Eat The Frog!
A Virtual, Drop-in Procrastination-Busting
Jam Session
What’s Hanging Over Your Head?
Do you have A Thing hanging over your head that you’ve been meaning to do forever, but just keep putting off? Is your to-do list so long and full of Things that you can’t stand to look at it? Is there a Project Thing you’d like to finish that has loose threads hanging everywhere?
Procrastination. We’re all guilty of it. We have great intentions to do That Thing, and maybe even know what needs to be done and how to do it—yet we let it sit there, gathering dust, getting uglier and more daunting the longer it sits.
Now sometimes, those Things really do need some time before you tackle them. You might need some deep thinking time, some planning, or some energetic shift in order to really know where to start.
But other times, all you really need is a swift kick in the pants and a chunk of dedicated time where you hunker down and get busy on That Thing you’ve been putting off long enough. A bit of structure, a clear focus, some accountability, and you’re on your way.
Welcome to Eat The Frog!
This drop-in, virtual procrastination-busting jam session, is the perfect way to help you tackle That Thing that you’ve been putting off, ignoring, or otherwise hoping would go away. There’s an old saying that if you eat a live frog first thing in the morning, you can rest easy knowing that the rest of your day can’t possibly be as bad as that. So, with my help and the support of other focused, frog-eating people you will tackle Your Thing and Eat That Frog.
Here’s How We Do It
Eat The Frog is offered the last Tuesday of every month, from 10AM to 1PM Pacific Time. The day of Eat The Frog, you’ll phone in to a conference call number that will be sent to you when you register. We’ll have introductions, some general instructions, and commit to The Thing we will be working on as well as ask for any specific help or support needed. We’ll hang up, go work on our Thing for an hour, and then call back in for a progress check. Lather, rinse, repeat. At the end of the session we’ll share what we accomplished and celebrate our successful Eating of The Frog, as well as brainstorm some strategies for keeping the frog-eating momentum going.
Which Frog Should You Eat?
There are lots of options. You might pick the one most high-impact Thing that will give you the biggest bang for your time. You might pick the smallest, easiest Thing or Things because you can knock off lots of them in one sitting. You might pick the juiciest Thing—the one that, while maybe you won’t finish in a few hours, would sure feel fun to get moving on. You might choose the ugliest, most distasteful Thing just so that you can finally stop looking at it. It’s up to you. The point of the whole program is to pick something and GET IT DONE. Having a goal with a short deadline is high-octane stuff to help you not just start something, but finish it. People have completed entire websites, organized a closet, beat an overflowing inbox into submission, or made a zillion backlogged phone calls. One person even wrote out an entire year’s worth of blog post ideas and got a month’s worth of them written. Yes, in three hours. I swear. That deadline/accountability thing is POWERFUL.

The Fine Print
Registration will be closed one day before the start of the session (though if you send me a little email, I’ll probably make an exception.) Tuition is refundable if you cancel seven days prior to the start of a session; otherwise, there are no refunds. However, you may use it towards a future Eat The Frog or pass it on to a friend. (Just let me know which you’d prefer so that I can make the necessary changes.)
