Let’s work together

Hello!

As you may or may not have guessed, I’m a professional coach—genuinely trained, qualified, and certified, with extra alphabet after my name and everything.  But you can read more about that elsewhere.

If you want to cut to the chase and check out things like coaching packages and pricing, click here. For more detailed info on the kind of coaching I do and who I work with, you can click on any of the following links.  And if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask me.

Life Coaching for Gutsy Women:   Personal coaching for women who are seeking meaning and purpose, are navigating a big life change, or are looking for more motivation and mojo in their life.

When You Are The Boss:  Personal and professional coaching for self-employed women and entrepreneurs who want to build balanced, healthy businesses while staying sane and centered.

Non-Corporate Women in Corporate Places:  leadership and professional development for upwardly mobile career women, managers, directors, and business leaders wanting to hone their signature skills and presence in the corporate world.

So.  Back to Working Together.

I mostly coach working women:  accidental or intentional entrepreneurs, innovative self-employed go-getters, unconventional women in corporate worlds, and aspiring wise-women-to-be who have a sneaking suspicion that they need to do their Thing, if only they knew what that Thing was.  And yes, fellas, I do work with guys from time to time, on a case-by-case basis.  As long as you’re REALLY cool.

Here’s some of the typical stuff I can help you with:

  • You’re trying to balance growing your business or career while staying somewhat sane and emotionally stable at the same time
  • Or, you want to make the leap into something completely different, and aren’t sure what it is or how to go about making the switch
  • You want to figure out how to tap into your talents, without being hobbled by your Achilles heel
  • You want to be more effective as an owner, manager, or leader
  • You find yourself stuck in your own habits, and they’re keeping you from getting what you really want.
  • Your confidence could use a boost–you’ve got an Inner Critic the size of Texas, and it’s causing all kinds of fallout
  • You’d like to have better, healthy relationships in any situation: with your boss, your direct reports, your husband
  • You need to learn to handle conflict better, and not just by running away or having meltdowns.
  • You wish you were more productive. It seems like you’re going like gangbusters all the time, yet you’re making zero progress on the important stuff.
  • You could use better communication skills.  You’re having trouble getting people to get it, and are starting to suspect that part of the problem is you.
  • You know what you need to do, and need some kind of structure and accountability around getting it done.

Does this sound like you?

If you’re like most of the women I work with, you can relate to the following:

  • You believe in working to live, not living to work. Yeah, sure, you want to earn a healthy living and all that.  But not at the expense of the rest of your life, which is every bit as important.
  • You’re just as interested in the journey as you are in the destination.  You like to have a goal, but want to enjoy the process of reaching it, too.
  • You don’t shy away from a challenge. Or at least  you are game to try stuff and risk blowing it.
  • You color outside the lines, metaphorically speaking.  “Conventional”  is not a word that people typically use to describe you.
  • You’re a bit of a free spirit.  Not the kooky, spacey kind–more of the independent, do-your-own-thing kind.
  • Learning is a big undercurrent in your world. Life is your school, and you’re an avid student.
  • You get that it’s all about you, but in a good, non-sucky way.  That knowing yourself first is a good thing, because it means you can be that much more clear with everything and everyone else around you.

And the flip side:

Coaching isn’t always the right solution for everyone.  Here’s some ways in which we might not be a good fit:

  • You want a quick fix or ready-made answers. I believe that any kind of lasting change takes time, effort, and consistency, so if you are hoping for an easy way out or are wishing that there is a magic pill that will solve things, I’m not your girl.
  • While we’re on the subject of fixing things, here’s the deal: I am not the one who is able to actually fix anything in your life.  YOU are. I will help you figure out what needs to happen and what needs to be done, but ultimately it’s you who gets to do the work.  Because really, that’s the only way that you will be the one reaping the results.  So if you’re hoping I will just take over and fix things for you–sorry, sweetie, that part’s not my job.
  • You just want a place to vent. Yes, sometimes venting has its place, even in a coaching relationship.  My job as your coach, however, is to get you past the venting, into more productive thought and action.  If you just need to vent, you might be better off calling up a friend for a beer or something.
  • You aren’t willing to take 100% responsibility for yourself. If you like to blame circumstances, other people,  the planetary alignment, God, or karma for what’s going on, then there isn’t much I can do to help you with that.  Unless I get that magic wand I’ve been asking for…

How does it work?

First, let’s talk! I always want to have a consultation first, to see if we gel, and to make sure that we’re both on the same page as far as the kind of help you’re looking for and the kind of help I can offer.

Then, we’ll schedule a Foundation Session, which is the beginning of our work together and the place where we define exactly what it is that we want to focus on, what kind of outcomes you’d like to have, what you want to get out of coaching and how you’ll know that you’re making progress. At that point, we’ll decide how often we want to meet, when, and so forth, and off we go!

I customize coaching for each person, and have a pretty big toolbox of tricks, tools, methods, assessments, and magic that I pull from, so don’t expect a fixed agenda or a ready-made coach-in-a-box.  What you WILL get is a customized program unique to your goals; a supporter of your best, highest effort; a devil’s advocate who will challenge you; and an ally who will encourage (maybe even push) you to be your best, brightest, most kick-ass self.

Sound interesting? Click the links below for more information about the different kinds of help I can offer you, or contact me here and we can set up a time to chat and I’ll answer any questions you have. I look forward to meeting you!
